Mantiqueira Azul lot

This lot comes from the COCARIVE Cooperative, which is located in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais.
It was founded in 1961 and consists mainly of small farmers, with 80% of its fazendas being smaller than 7 hectares. Located in the Serra de Mantiqueira, the coffees are grown between 900 and 1500 metres above sea level. Given the terrain, 95% of the coffee picking is done by hand.

COCARIVE is a reference in the global speciality coffee community and its coffees have received numerous quality awards over the years (e.g. COE) and in June 2020 Mantiqueira de Minas was officially registered as a ‘Denomination of Origin’.
Previously, it had the ‘Protected Geographical Indication’ (PGI).
The coffees produced in this region are recognised worldwide as the best in Brazil and have won numerous quality awards over the years.
