This premium Rooibos lot is cultivated at an elevation of 450 meters in the rugged, semi-arid Cederberg mountain range, located within the Western Cape province of South Africa.
The plant thrives exclusively in the region’s unique, coarse, and highly acidic sandstone soils. This environment, marked by burning, dry summers and wet winters, forces the deep-rooted shrub to generate high amounts of polyphenols and natural sugars to survive

Harvested during the peak of the South African summer, the needle-like leaves and fine stems are cut, gathered, and neatly bound into bundles.
The processing follows a traditional, highly precise oxidation method. The green plant material is mechanically bruised and lightly sprayed with water to trigger an overnight fermentation process on open-air concrete slabs. As it oxidizes under the African sun, the plant transforms from a pale green hue to a deep, rich amber-red, locking in its trademark woody sweetness and completely eliminating bitter tannins.

This lot comes from the Western Cape region, that has committed entirely to biodiversity protection and organic farming. Maintaining strict ecological standards, they produce a clean, mineral-rich crop that honors the ancient botanical knowledge of the indigenous Khoisan people who first harvested the "red bush."
